RYE OLD SCHOLARS ASSOCIATION – ROSA
The Rye Old Scholars’ Association – ROSA – (previously known as the Old Scholars’ Association – OSA) was formed sometime in the late 1920s or early 1930s to enable pupils of Rye Grammar School to keep in touch after they had left. In 1938, Will Dunlop became Secretary and remained involved for the rest of his life.

ROSA has since evolved with time and has seen many changes. In 1969 Rye Grammar School and Rye Secondary Modern School merged to become Thomas Peacocke School . In more recent years it changed to a Community College and was then renamed Rye College in 2008.
We welcome comments so that we can correct, improve and move the site forward to something we can be proud of. In particular, we would love you to send us articles, news, photos etc so that we can include them on the website. There is a ROSA archive cupboard at the school, and a number of the photos on this site come from the archive, and thanks go to Judith and Martin Blincow and Claire and Andrew Spacey for scanning these and other pictures. Sadly the archive has suffered from damage and a flood over the years which has meant that many items have been lost. Another reason for our plea for material for the site.
Anyone who would like to publicise any event connected with the Old Scholars please let us know so that we can add it to our events page and offer assistance if required.
Please send any such items or details of events to Richard Moore r.fm@btopenworld.com
Alternatively Kevin Moore would welcome communications also at saintkev1957@outlook.com
Alternatively you could write to Mrs Judith Blincow, ROSA Secretary, The Mermaid Inn, Mermaid Street, Rye, East Sussex, T31 7EY. Email judith@mermaidinn.com
Details of how to become a member of ROSA are on our Membership Page
We are increasingly communicating with our membership through email, and are building up our email database. But it is important that we have your up-to-date email so it would be very helpful if you could let Judith Blincow have your current email details – please send these to her at judith@mermaidinn.com so she can check them against or add them to our database.
In the light of forthcoming legislation on data protection, do let us know if you would like your email removed from our database. Thanks.
ROSA email list
In circulating emails for any of our events, it is clear that not all ROSA members are receiving the regular website update emails.
If you have found this website, but do not receive email updates, please send your email address to Richard Moore at r.fm@btopenworld.com and he will add you to the list.
